It is sturdy and functions well as a blade. The resin handle is good because it doesn't mold or rot. Especially for hobbyist cooks like me, if you don't use it every day, you won't notice any changes.
For the money I'm impressed with the quality, does what it's supposed to do well. This type of knife isn't for all propose cutting. It won't do well for thick hard vegetables or fruits. The blade is pretty thick and back side has a slight convex curve to it which makes it twist while trying to cut through something like a potato. This knife is for fish and poultry and small softer vegetables. Can cut through bones if you chop, just be careful. Watch a video on YouTube about filleting with a deba knife to learn the Japanese style of doing it.
I don't use it myself, but people who use it are satisfied with this quality at this price.
I trust the the brand, which I have used for a long time. Sharp and durable. thank you.
