This is great very sturdy and Sharp. I've been using it for chopping the ends off of corn. It works great. Pretty heavy.

I bought this because my mother-in-law kept abusing my chef's knives chopping chicken legs, so I had to re-shape the bevel and dress the edge. She was using the wrong tool for the job that I didn't think needed to be done. Since I bought her this Bone Chopper, my good knives are okay and need only minor touch up. This Bone Chopper really does the job!

I haven't tried with red meat, but for chicken this Bone Chopper is perfect. It is heavy enough that I just have to let it drop on its own wait to chop thru the meat, and even with bones it only needs very little force. It was quite sharp out of the box, but may need sharpening after a few uses. Good addition to the kitchen.
